Hi! I’m Emma. I live and work in Melbourne and spend most of my time cooking and baking.

I’ve been baking since my early teen years. I don’t remember when, or why or even what, but I just know that I’ve been baking for at least 10 years now.

And recently, I’ve been doing something I never imagined: making birthday and wedding cakes for friends and family! I love being able to create amazing flavours and looks, and love serving other people by making a cake to top off their celebration.

I also bake anything and everything I come across, not just cakes! I love baking for supper at church, and having cake on hand whenever a friend drops in, or giving a family something sweet for them to enjoy for the week.

For the past little while I have been teaching myself to bake. By this, I mean that I’ve made a lot of trips to the library to research and borrow amazing cookbooks. I’ve been baking at least twice a week, often a lot more, trying different recipes and techniques, and also trying to figure out the science behind the recipes and taking note of what works and what doesn’t. So this blog is sort of my reflections from this experience.
